Question:

Hi Everyone, Just wanted to let you know the outcome of my son’s pdoc appointment. My son was not doing well on dexedrine and threatened suicide the weekend before last. He’s been rediagnosed with ADD and depression (just what I thought!).  The Dr. was great, really listened to me, gave ME several choices of medications to try, explaining each. I chose to go with wellbutrin along with the dex and then in a month go off the dex and hope the wellbutrin will do the trick by itself. Gunnar has asthma as well as allergies and I feel like he’s a walking drug store, the other alternatives were medications that needed to be taken in conjunction with dex…..one too many pills! He still is depressed, but the doc said it would take 2-3 weeks before the wellbutrin started to work.  At least he’s not hitting himself in the head anymore and only has 2 days of school this week (teacher conventions). He needs a break. As always, I keep trying, praying and keeping my fingers crossed…..I’ll do whatever it takes! Michelle
