It is. Their site is http://www.sciencemag.org –Elliot Wilen
Response:
In the Jan 3 issure of Science Magazine there is an article on page 41: Asthma: An Epidemic in the Absence of Infection explaining how the immune system may be causing the epidemic of asthma throughout the developed countries because of less incidence of infections that increase a certain T-cell. Surprisingly, there is less asthma in countries less developed with more infectious disease. Since I had the flu, took Zithromax, my symptoms have all but disappeared, just a little post-nasal drip at this time, I’m trying to control with Flonase, before it gets to the stage to need inhalers. Don’t know how long it will last, but one can hope. The joke is: with all the hype re. flu shots, it may have been the flu that is curing me. Or with the reported reactions to the flu shot, there may be a boost in immunity. Maybe the article is accessible online. It has it’s technical parts, but is readable for the layperson. I will be re-reading it myself to grasp all I can. Any comments? Sue M
