Question:

A saying that I have seen in several places most fits my method of housework:  "My idea of cleaning is to sweep the room with a glance". I *hate* housecleaning, and in fact, am looking for someone who could come in twice a month to do the heavy cleaning.  I don’t mind picking up, but I really don’t like scrubbing, dusting, vacuuming, etc.  This is besides the fact that chemical cleaners make my asthma go up in flames.

I’m just the opposite, which is why having a cleaning service doesn’t do me any good.  I don’t mind the actual cleaning, but our house tends to get pretty cluttered (and I admit it’s mostly due to me!), and I hate picking it all up to get ready to clean!  Plus, most of the services don’t do things like windows, or dusting (other than dusting around things, they won’t pick up knickknacks and dust under them). I used to feel terribly guilty that my house is messier than my Mom’s ever was, until I realized that while I was working full time (50 hours a week), my mom was not only staying home, but also had a maid come in once a week (for $7, ha!).  Of course, now I only work part time, and my house still doesn’t look like hers did! So the vacuum cleaner stays in the cupboard …. Frankly, you wouldn’t like scaring two lovely kitties who bring us so much joy, would you ???

My comment : I thought I was the only one who used that excuse – I vacuumed last week, the front rooms and must do the back rooms the first of this week, but the cats hate the sound and fury and hide for a day afterwards. IT is a very good excuse !!! Although I don’t have any connection to this company, I thought that might interest or give some good ideas to some of you. It has given me some already !
