1..Besides quenching thirst, what is the reason for drinking so much water? 2..A couple of months back there was some discussion about Dr. K???? in California who has a Web page.  Anyone know his name? 3..Has anyone had the experience of losing more body mass than actual lbs? I have dieted all my life and of course gained it back. Never would I lose ten pounds and be a size smaller. I am 5′ 6.5" with large bones. Is this the medication?  As far as I am concerned Phen/fen does more than kill the appetite. I am looking forward to your reply. Rosemary

How do you know you are drinking enough water? When if you put more in the top of your body, your body decides it needs to let some out the bottom to make room…. Water provides the means for your body to get rid of the waste products that result from your body breaking down fat to provide energy. There are also claims – don’t know if true – that more water helps your skin stay more elastic and therefore less saggy as you lose weight. Anybody know more about that claim? I have also heard that not drinking enough water can actually make you _retain_ fluid, as the body thinks it is "starved" of water and holds on to every dear drop it can. Again…any other input? -Barbara.

Because we don’t drink enough water to fulfill the requirements our bodies need for it.  Every cell needs water to function, it is like oil in a car, lubricating, making everything work more efficiently and more productively.  By the time the body has felt thirst, it is already dehydrated.  The reason people don’t feel thirsty anymore when they don’t drink water is because, like with anorexics and food, if you deprive the body long enough, it no longer believes it is forthcoming and gives up asking.   2..A couple of months back there was some discussion about Dr. K???? in California who has a Web page.  Anyone know his name?

Dr. Krentzman is the doctor you are asking about, *not* "Dr." Hitzig (d/h to those of us who "know").  Someone else recommended you visit d/h’s site… I implore you to see Krentzman’s instead because d/h’s is filled with bogus claims to heal everything from asthma to AIDS with Phen-Fen. Not sure what you mean here… can you elaborate? I have dieted all my life and of course gained it back. Never would I lose ten pounds and be a size smaller.

The more you weigh, the more you have to lose before going down in sizes.  I started at 330 lbs and it took a loss of about 35-40 lbs til I went down a size.  The more I lose, the less it takes to change sizes.
