Hi! I would like to know if a SilentAir 2000 (from Jenn air) is dangerous for my Blue and Gold parrot. It use negative ions to clean the air and can create some ozone. My sons and I have asthma and anything that creates ozone is bad for our lungs.  We have been warned specifically not to use any sort of air purifier that produces ozone and I figure it can’t be good for the birds if it’s bad for humans.  This is "Kellie Logic", but I’ll offer it for your amusement:  Asthma is basically an over reaction by overly sensitive bronchioles to normal stuff in the environment, and since birds are said to have more sensitive respiratory tracts than humans, it seems that following advice that is given to prevent asthma flare ups might be a good idea for birds.
