Question:
Does it get any better than this? Cooler temps, Fall Festivals, races everywhere, marathon season, REAL fresh apple cider and Beck’s Oktoberfest Bier. Only thing better is being at the Indianapolis 500. David "IndyRunr"
OK, Thanks to this thread (and its ‘creator’) I have ended my slump. No more obsessing about the current alergy/asthma/head-cold and ’six months training down the drain’.
Last night: Beck’s This morning 5:20: Woke up, thought "Oh yeah, fall running", got on the road and banged out 5×1 mile to complete the last fast workout before Hartford. BTW, It was the Beck’s that really did it.

It *is* great, isn’t it! I visited Florida in August of this year. Gosh, but how do runners do it there in the summer?
I live in Florida, and it isn’t easy! Air conditioning helps. When we were brushed by Floyd I had no electricity for three days, and I just couldn’t make myself go out and run when I was hot before I even started. I went to the Y and did spinning in the air conditioning. What’s really bad is that it’s still summer here. Ah well, Florida is a great place in January. Jean S.

You’re so right. How about a nice trail run with the inviting smell of rotting leaves and wood. Crisp, crimson leaves cracking under foot. A chilling but invigorating freshness in the air that simply energizes. Right on Dave- for me anyway, there is no better time to be a runner. Jack.

I ran quite early — 5:30 AM or so — but still found the humidity stifling to say the least. This is my favorite time of the year for running. Of course, being in Toronto, the only downside is that in a few months, winter will hit, making me wish that it was hot and humid once again. Sigh…

Lucky you! It’s summer here at Dominican Republic(and very hot), and will be summer all year long. Manuel Rivas * Sent from RemarQ http://www.remarq.com The Internet’s Discussion Network * The fastest and easiest way to search and participate in Usenet – Free!
