– Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – Now I just take a generic version of Tylenol Allergy medication. (the Kirkland Brand for those who know Costco products). I don’t know how I could take Kirkland brand pills after I’ve used Kirkland brand garbage bags…it just sounds like industrial waste. <weg The Zellers (don’t know if you have Zellers in the states) store brand is "Truly <whatever", so they have cheap earrings labelled "Truly Classic" and Kraft Dinner labelled "Truly Delicious" <snort. Extrapolating that to a line of drugs… "Truly Stoned"??? <weg Just because they may not make the best trash bags doesn’t mean they have the allergy med wrong. For example, HP makes good printers, but they make lousy cameras. Canon cameras are pretty good, but their printers are much less impressive than HP printers.
Don’t know if it’s still true, but the early HP printers were Canons with an HP label and an HP controller board. So were the early Apple Laserwriters. As for their scanners, they are okay. But my brother’s HP scanner, beats my Canon scanner. Norma — Follow the white rabbit… But don’t get lost!

I haven’t read up on it, but all I know is that HP Printers are quiet, are more efficient at guzzling ink, than others and since each cartridge has a print head on it, you don’t have to worry about damage to the print head. Another thing I learned, is that I’m not buying Epsons again. Each time it gets turned on ink is wasted to keep the print heads unclogged. The print is nice but (HP prints just as nice), I read some review that said that prints done with the HP last longer over all that those of the other printers. The Canon printer I had before (it has been a while, but it didn’t give me a very good impression), guzzled ink so that I had to replace the cartridge monthly and it was expensive. It only did 200 sheets monochrome no less. I hope they’ve improved since then. But then again everybody I know who has bought an HP including us, have been happy with HP printers. I have a rather new, rather cheap Canon printer, it doesn’t even have an off switch. So I have to leave it unplugged when I’m not using it, else it goes on when the powerbar and computer do, and wastes ink like no tomorrow. — "All I know is that he likes pop tarts. POP TARTS. How do you know they are allergies? I have the same symptoms – fatigue etc but Ive never though they were related to allergies. Do you guys assciate it with particular foods , seasons? Or what ? About the only thing I can think of is coffee. I must have caffeine but if I drink coffee my skin tends to break out so I try to limit it to less than 3 cups a day. Doesnt happen with Lipton tea.
Because they only appear during certain times. But I now have two different distinct types of allergies. Used to be my eyes would get itchy and red and I would sneeze every so often, and that would happen oh say 3 months out of the whole year. Now I get that early part of the year, and the second part of the year I get the other type of allergy – sneezing constantly, runny nose and sinus headache (if I don’t take anything for them). I am not referring mainly to the fatigue. The fatigue happens anytime off of ADHD meds. Caffeine in me (above anything more than probably 50mg) makes the fatigue worse I even want to sleep often, and makes me very moody. Depressing because at one time it helped me concentrate, and worked as a stimulant (instead of making me sleepy). Off of meds (and any working stimulant, only other one is Ephedrine [pseudo also included]). I get tired, but I feel lazy and just want to sit and maybe watch TV or just daydream… I hate the waste of time that brings me… The only thing I can manage to concentrate on somewhat during those times, is on anything new or extremely interesting. Interesting or partially interesting is still a struggle for me at that time. So you see I had to do something about that. So basically those are the differences. While I am an undiagnosed ADHD(mainly HHHHH), I have asthma and sinus allergies. My older son is 14 and "only" ADHD, younger son is 11 and ADHD/gifted/asperger(high functioning autism) and both are allergic to penicillin-younger one shows signs of potential excerise induced asthma as well. One problem with allergies is that the drug of choice-an antihistime-often does one of two things…makes one sleepy, or hyper-both of which affect the ADHDer…
Which antihistamine? (curious). If it’s Benadryl, it makes me sleepy. When I had some left over and I needed sleep badly and I could not sleep I would take a tablet at bed time. Now I just use earplugs to avoid sound distractions. However I met this lady who said it made her and her children hyper. I could never figure that out
Now I just take a generic version of Tylenol Allergy medication. (the Kirkland Brand for those who know Costco products). Interesting but it seems to work better than Zyrtec and Claritin. Maybe I would probably need a higher dose of those meds (also they are supposed to work all day in me but don’t, they wear off quickly). But comparing the cost, I just stick to my 6 hour cheap allergy med, that gives me an energy boost to boot. Can’t remeber the name of the antihistamine that it contains, but it seems to work good too. The pseudoephedrine helps me breathe easily too, and of course Acetaminophen for sinus headaces. Under $4 for a box of 60 tablets. You can’t beat that
*Thread change* Anybody familiar with both Sam’s Club and Costco? How do they differ? I’ve often wondered if I should also get a member ship to Sam’s Club or maybe it may not be worth it? Norma — Follow the white rabbit… But don’t get lost!

<grin I have found out that *every* OTC antihistimine makes son #1 (14 and "only" ADHD) more hyper… All but benadryl and atarax send me through the roof-and younger son as well (11 ADHD/gifted/asperger). Don’t know about him and atarax, but one dose, and I am a zombie
Right now, I am taking allergra, because the base stopped carrying claritin–but both seem to have the least affect on my alertness. — Buny —-"Nobody realizes that some people expend tremendous energy merely to be normal." ~ Albert Camus

I have heard that people with ADD and other learning disabilities have a lot of allergies. I know that this is true for me. My allergies are at times debilitating. Also, I have a lot of fatigue problems which I believe are related to my allergies. When I’m having allergies, I get depressed, can’t think clearly, feel extremely tired and I can’t focus. As soon as my allergies clear up, the other problems often disappear. I’m wondering if others have similar problems with allergies.
When my allergies get bad, I have the same problem. I have the tyical pollen allergies. Another depressing thought, I went from having them a few months a year to almost now all year
Took a while but the problem has slowly gotten worse. Norma — Follow the white rabbit… But don’t get lost!
