Question:

since i dont seem to be conforming to this ng’s rules and i dont e-mail people personally when asked, and my views are weird or twisted, it is my choice to leave this ng.  dont think for ONE minute that i NEVER suffered with PD, because i have, since 1969.  i AM like all of you, but maybe a tad different.  my posts have angered people and my willingness to share, is not appreciated.  i did not mean to come off like i am saying what works for me does for you, or prescribe anything to everyone.  merely sharing, and as for the statement of "emotional growth", that came from a on which seemed to cause quite enough commotion.  but i am far too busy to keep hashing over all of these issues, and much discouraged with this ng. of all my ng’s this is the ONLY one that i have people dissing me in.  i also have asthma and am in that ng.  NO ONE has ever had a problem with what i posted.  if anyone wishes to correspond with me, feel free to do so val

Val, several people have voiced their opinion and their appreciation on the "positive" value of several of your posts therefore you cannot make a blanket statement that the whole of this newsgroup feels unappreciative.  Since you have dismissed the positive statements people have made about your posts it appears as though you are trying to maintain this whole unpleasant situation with these "I am so misunderstood" comments. You have chose to ignore that people were merely asking you to refrain from blanket, "one-size-fits-all" statements, and negative comments ( your quote) concerning other treatment approaches (medication); instead of addressing these admonitions you twist the purpose of these comments into others trying to make your views seem "weird or twisted."  Since no one has made such a statement I feel that you are trying to manipulate this group into further discord with such a comment. BTW:  The "rules" of the newsgroup are really very simple; have you tried reading the ASAP FAQ for starters before posting to the newsgroup?  It is posted quite frequently…. i did not mean to come off like i am saying what works for me does for you, or prescribe anything to everyone.

Regardless of whether or not you meant to come off in this manner, you did.  That is why you got the response you did.  (Anyone else who posts in a "one-size-fits-all" manner receives similar admonishments.)  It is so easy to be misunderstood or to be unclear when typing one’s thoughts that misunderstandings easily arise.  Many people try to rectify the misunderstanding in the early stages while others merely fan the flames of discord once they appear.    merely sharing, and as for the statement of "emotional growth", that came from a Beverly Hills shrink!!!!!

Val, I question why you would choose to "share" this type of a comment with a group such as this where medication may play a part in the majority’s recovery process and where you are likely to offend a great number of people.  For the life of me I failed to see what was either helpful or edifying in such a remark.  Several people felt the same way and have asked you to illuminate for us the purpose of posting such a remark.  You have responded with sarcasm and negativity.  Although you have seen fit in this final closing statement to attribute the comment to a "Beverly Hills shrink" you still have yet to reveal the purpose of making such a statement.  Since you have refrained from stating this purpose people naturally assume the purpose is to insult and demean those taking medication.   on which seemed to cause quite enough commotion.  but i am far too busy to keep hashing over all of these issues, and much discouraged with this ng.

Since you raised this "commotion" in the first place with your "emotional growth" comment it is too bad that you have so little time to address to the readers you offended the purpose of making such a remark.  If I were as concerned, as you stated you are, with helping others I would feel more than a little compelled to "hash out" a misunderstanding.   BTW:  Any discouragement you might feel is relative to the discouragement your comment left the majority of the group feeling with your off-handed "quote" on medication…. of all my ng’s this is the ONLY one that i have people dissing me in.

Since you have yet to comphrehend the full scope of your "quote" and comments to this newsgroup perhaps you should remain in newsgroups where people are not "dissing" you; since garnering all the respect you are entitled seems to be of prime concern to you.   i also have asthma and am in that ng.  NO ONE has ever had a problem with what i posted.  if anyone wishes to correspond with me, feel free to do so
